The Medieval Studies Forum is sub-group of people interested in the medieval period. The Forum mixes traditional presentations with informal seminars where ideas can be presented and discussed for the benefit of all those involved in the different aspects of a common interest. From this, it is hoped that cross-disciplinary studies will develop to begin to answer some of the questions that are being posed as we think about "where next" and, in particular, to foster closer ties between field work and documentary research.
A series of regular meetings are held to explore current topics of interest within Surrey's medieval past, defined (at least initially) very broadly to cover the periods from AD410 through to about AD1600, although these dates span a period longer than that generally taken as ‘medieval'. If you are interested in joining such a group please contact Richard and Pamela Savage (medforum@hotmail.co.uk) indicating your particular interests and areas of study. The Forum will welcome all interested in the medieval period, irrespective of their background, level of experience or field of interest. |
