Woking Palace Open Day

Events: 
The site of the medieval manor and Tudor Palace of Woking will be open for the first time this year on 11th & 12th May. Guided tours of the 8 acre moated site and its above ground remains will run throughout the day until 4pm. There will be various displays including ones by a local historian, the palace bee-keeper, Surrey Wildlife Trust and Surrey Heritage's community archaeologist with details of the new Heritage Lottery Fund Project to be run by the Friends, which will include excavations to gain further knowledge of the Scheduled Monument.

Visits and walks are organised by non-Society groups and will take you to interesting places with good guides.

Friends of Woking Palace - Open Day

Visit the site of Woking's medieval manor and Tudor palace open on Saturday and Sunday as part of Heritage Open Days. In addition to the guided tours and displays Raphael Falconry, historical falconers, will be setting up their Hawks Mews on site. At 11.30am each day there will be a talk and a chance to meet the birds of prey and at 1.30pm and 3.30pm there will be flying displays (weather permitting). No parking on site or the private approach road. Free parking in Old Woking and access is by foot or cycle following the signed route (approx 1 mile).

Woking Palace Archaeological Project Open Day

Events: 

An opportunity to take a free guided tour of the excavations carried out during the fourth season of investigations on this Scheduled Site. In addition to the guided tours there will displays and exhibitions by a variety of local heritage organisations. Access is by foot or cycle. There is no parking at the site or on the private approach road but free parking is available in the centre of Old Woking from where there is a signed route (approx 1 mile) to the site.

Milestones in Basingstoke Visit

Events: 
Half-Term Visit to Milestones in Basingstoke.
The coach leaves Leatherhead Leisure Centre at 0930 and will pick up in Guildford at 1000, opposite Sainsburys, Burpham.
